Minimalist Perspective on Legal Communication: A Case Study of English to Urdu Translation of Punjab Laws

چکیده
Syntactic choices and complexity reduction make translation communicative for the readers. This paper underscores syntactic as well in Urdu of Punjab laws English. The study focuses on legal communication a minimalistic perspective. It draws upon theory minimalism proposed by Chomsky (1993), along with three-stage model Nida Taber (1969). Data is analyzed employing Burton’s (2021) clausal analysis. data used research comprises English their translation. findings reveal useful strategy process reducing structure making understandable to laypeople. beneficial English-Urdu translators since it instructs them how translations communicative, especially when dealing texts. also academics field Translation Studies who are working minimalist views.Keywords: minimalism, reduction, translation, choices,
